We had the honour and priveledge of creating the wedding flowers for my dear friends Julia and Chris. Julia really wanted blue flowers as the colour blue is her favourite colour. I set to work to source the most beautiful flowers. Whilst the designs were traditional in form we introduced several moden style techniques within the designs.
I loved working on this wedding and even when the Vicar accidentally dropped the altar arrangement, as a guest, I was on hand for some emergency adjustments. As with all our couples we are always on had throughout the day just in case.
My wife decided that she wanted blue flowers for our wedding. The problem being that she didn’t like anything that was available. Collette took it all in her stride and sourced the most beautiful royal blue roses for us and matched them with other beautiful blooms, beads, reeds and other little marvels. She then worked her magic and conjured some truly exquisite bouquets, arrangements and button holes for us. She even offered suggestions on how to match the bridal bouquet to the dress – and it was a brilliant design. I think every single one of our guests commented on the flowers and my wife positively glowed at all the compliments on the flowers and her bouquet. We had a relatively small budget but you would never have known it from the standard of flowers that Collette produced for us.
Collette’s attention to detail is wonderful. She hand tied all our table decorations and we were able to give these out to our guests as mementoes, which we loved. After the event we went on honeymoon and my mother-in-law took the remaining flowers home. The flowers lasted for two or three full weeks before they started to fade. Incredible! I don’t think my tan lasted that long.
Since our wedding we have recommended Origins any time anyone has even mentioned flowers, in the certain knowledge that she could bring her flair, originality and passion to bear to make someone else’s event flourish.
